Up the Northfork

We went up the Northfork yesterday to hang out at Wurtz Cabin with some friends. I hoped to see a bear. One of our friends saw a bear cross the road but we saw none. We did see tons of deer and elk. The meadow before Polebridge was full of elk and I walked out to take a photo and I could smell them. The bull in the photo below just stared at me for the longest time, I kept thinking if a car drives by I will be that stupid tourist walking out to the animals that I always make fun of! Nate said I was about 100 yards from him, I believe it because I just kept walking toward him with my camera glued to my face. I started to wonder if the elk would run away from me or run at me! The lady elk in the picture below was all by herself just about ten feet off the road, she didn't seem bothered by the fact we stopped for several minutes and I shot at her - with my camera.
